Hazardous Materials
Hazardous Materials are often abated via Job Order Contracting. Facility Owners abate asbestos, lead based paint, bird waste, mold amongst many more hazardous materials using Gordian JOC solutions. They also remove fuel tanks, lighting fixture ballasts and lamps, and PCB's. For some facility owners, like the University of Vermont, we have developed specialized Hazardous Material Job Order Contracts.
One of the pitfalls that arise in repair and maintenance projects is when hazardous materials need to be removed. When such materials are found unexpecitedly, change orders can arise, or when there is an incident where Hazmat removal needs to occur quickly, agencies can be caught unprepared. Both situations can lead to increased cost and delays in getting work done.
Like with emergency response, Gordian JOC solutions help alleviate these concerns and uncertainties. Has the contractor on a project found asbestos in the ceiling? No change order is need in our system. Simply add the abatement task to the scope of work and keep moving. Same story in the case of an accident: there is no need for rush premiums to remove hazardous materials safely and quickly. Through our solutions, contractors are already on call and ready to mobilize at fixed, competitively bid prices. We allow you to focus on finishing work quickly and safely.
