Rapid Renovation of Post Office Destroyed by Fire Wins Mellon Award for Excellence - MAULDIN, SC - February 16, 2012 - Just two days after fire destroyed the Healdsburg, California, Post Office north of San Francisco, a temporary counter was set up to serve customers and provisions were in place to expedite renovations, thanks to its Job Order Contracting process. •       An explanation of NYDOT’s use of Job Order Contracting that relies on a construction task catalog using pre-set, locally-based, unit prices,
•       Competitive bidding using two adjustment factors (a bid for work during normal working hour and a bid for other than normal working hours),
•       NYSDOT’s experience with this method for general highway work, bridge repair, culvert repair and overhead sign structures, and
